El trabajo invisible es un proyecto de investigación sobre una labor teóricamente no- artística pero sí transformadora que realizo como trabajadora del cuidado. Es la conceptualización del oficio que elijo para sostenerme económicamente y que me permite desarrollar el resto de mis actividades como artista. El trabajo doméstico es desempeñado casi exclusivamente por mujeres, y es este sesgo de género lo que contribuye a su invisibilización y consecuentemente a la precarización de quienes lo desarrollamos.
El proyecto dispone de tres ejes:
-Uno virtual de documentación fotográfica que difundo a través de la cuenta @luciareissig de Instagram, donde subo imágenes que representan el antes y el después de mi proceso de trabajo y doy cuenta de cómo poner el cuerpo afecta el ambiente, deja huellas y modifica la vida de lxs habitantes de la casa.
-El segundo eje se relaciona con la memoria de los materiales con los que trabajo, que a su vez vinculo con la memoria del cuerpo trabajador. Es una investigación de las formas y las materialidades relacionadas con la limpieza y lo abyecto a partir de los trapos de las casas que limpio, usados y carcomidos, que no tienen más utilidad. Estas herramientas de trabajo se convierten en piezas autónomas y sin más uso práctico, llenas de marcas que evocan algo fantasmático del lugar por el que pasaron.
-El último eje es la fundación del Sindicato de Trabajadoras Invisibles, un espacio de encuentro y de carácter político-afectivo que busca generar nuevos métodos de organización y de lucha en torno al trabajo no remunerado. El Sindicato plantea la apertura de la experiencia individual a la colectiva y colaborativa. En este marco, nos juntamos a visibilizar una multitud de trabajos que se esconden bajo el manto del “amor”, ya que el reconocimiento de estas labores implicaría una ruptura estructural en la visión económica patriarcal. Esto se ve en las tareas del hogar y de la familia que realizamos las mujeres, pero también en otras ocupaciones como la del trabajo artístico, la de gestión de proyectos y muchas más. En el sindicato proponemos el nombramiento de estas tareas, la formulación de contra-estrategias y, sobre todo, la unión colectiva entre trabajadoras.
¿Qué se puede hacer dentro de lo no reconocido? ¿Podremos percibir la invisibilidad como un territorio a explorar? ¿Qué es el valor y quién define el valor de nuestras tareas? ¿Cuál es el valor del trabajo? ¿Podemos trabajar sin obedecer los términos productivos que propone el mercado? ¿Qué es hacer nada? ¿Puede el trabajo estar ligado al placer? ¿Podemos usar los saberes aprehendidos de nuestra crianza patriarcal al servicio de algo nuevo? Estas son algunas de las preguntas que plantea este proyecto.

The invisible work is a research project about my work as a care worker. It is the conceptualization of the job that I choose to support myself financially and that allows me to develop the rest of my activities as an artist. Domestic work is performed almost exclusively by women, and it is this gender bias that contributes to their invisibility and consequently to the precariousness of those of us who develop it.
The project has three axes:
-A virtual photographic documentation that I share through the @luciareissig Instagram account, where I upload images that represent the before and after of my work process and realize how putting the body affects the environment, leaving traces and modifying the life of the inhabitants of the house.
-The second axis is related to the memory of the materials I work with, which in turn is linked to the memory of the working body. It is an investigation of the forms and materialities related to cleaning and the abject from the rags of the houses that I clean, used and rotten, which have no more use. These work tools become autonomous pieces without any further practical use, full of marks that evoke something phantasmic about the place they passed through.
-The last axis is the foundation of the Invisible Workers Union, a meeting space of a political-affective nature that seeks to generate new methods of organization and struggle around unpaid work. The Union raises the opening of the individual experience to the collective and collaborative. In this framework, we come together to make visible a multitude of jobs that are hidden under the cloak of "love", since the recognition of these jobs would imply a structural break in the patriarchal economic vision. This is seen in the household and care work that women perform, but also in other occupations such as artistic work, project management and many more. In the union we propose the appointment of these tasks, the formulation of counter-strategies and, above all, the collective union between workers.
What can be done within the unrecognized? Can we perceive invisibility as a territory to explore? What is value and who defines the value of our tasks? What is the value of the work? Can we work without obeying the productive terms proposed by the market? What does it mean to do nothing? Can work be linked to pleasure? Can we use the apprehended knowledge of our patriarchal upbringing in the service of something new? These are some of the questions this project raises.
